Tom Warner

Born and raised on a grain and livestock farm in eastern Indiana, Tom Warner started a custom application, crop protection and liquid fertilizer business while in high school. Following graduation from Ball State University and the eventual sale of his distribution business, he worked for Allied Chemical Corporation as a wholesale fertilizer salesman.

Having the urge to return to retail, he began working for Getty Refining & Marketing (Skelgas) as area manager overseeing its propane and newly formed crop input business in 1978. He joined Agrico Chemical in 1980 (which later became Crop Production Services) working as Area Manager, with branches in Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota. In May 1981, he became General Manager of the newly created West Illinois Division, and in 1993 was named Vice President of Crop Production Services with responsibility of all CPS operations east of the Rocky Mountains. In 2007, he became responsible for all of Agrium’s retail distribution operations in the US and Canada. In addition to his N. America responsibilities, in 2003, Tom became responsible for Agrium’s distribution business in S. America. Tom was named President of Agrium, North America Retail in January 2014. As of May 1, 2017, he assumed the position of Special Advisor to the CEO of Agrium. Tom retired from Agrium/Nutrien December 31, 2018.

Tom and his wife of over 47 years, Debbie, reside in Galesburg, Illinois and Indian Shores, FL. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.
